The Drawing Never Dies (DND) art residency is a drawing specific opportunity embracing the directness and simplicity of drawing as the most fundamental act of visual communication, as well as the importance of an inspiring and conducive environment for creative play. We provide a small studio in a tree and an efficient private living situation. We do not provide regular meals but guests have a kitchenette and we arrange one meal with professionals from the regional art scene to foster community and forge new connections.
We offer a small yet inspiring setting for focusing on contemplative and creative practice. The fresh environment as well as the time and space to nurture and explore your work ideally offers opportunity for personal growth and artistic evolution. There is no formal exhibition tied to the residency so it’s a low risk opportunity to experiment. It’s the perfect environment for an artist to flourish. If preferable you may open your studio and present your work to guests during the dinner event.
The ideal candidate for this residency is easygoing, creative, open-minded, has a genuine excitement for their practice and creating art in an exciting new location (like a treehouse in Denver, Colorado). We encourage artists from various backgrounds, viewpoints and drawing approaches to apply.
If this describes you, we encourage you to apply and hope to work together.
